Our Values, Principles & Policies

Confidentiality

At The Redstone Group, Ltd., our client relationships begin with an uncompromising commitment to confidentiality. We understand the importance of marketing your business without your competitors, employees, clients and vendors knowing that it is for sale. All inquiries are held in strict confidence, interested buyers are required to sign a confidentiality agreement before any details are disclosed, and meeting times and locations are scheduled to ensure confidentiality.

Client Advocates

Whether working with a buyer or a seller we are, first and foremost, loyal advocates of our clients' needs. This begins with a thorough understanding of your selling or buying requirements and your long-term goals. We collaborate closely with you in placing a value on your business, identifying your financial needs, understanding the personal and professional ramifications of the transaction, negotiating the best price at the best terms and timing the steps of the transaction to your best advantage. Your needs are always a priority, and we are diligent in performing as your advocate throughout the entire process.

Due Diligence

Often, when we approach a business purchase or sale, the biggest problems to overcome lie in the unknown. What is the real financial condition of the business? What "skeletons" lurk in the closet? What is the reputation of the business? We work through our extensive network of contacts – attorneys, bankers, accountants, CPAs, realtors and business associates – to discover the facts. Our purpose is to reveal the unknown so you can properly evaluate the opportunity. The last thing you want is to discover a big surprise after the deal is closed. Our due diligence process ensures that that doesn't happen.

Objectivity

What is your business worth? It depends, as a business can be valued through many techniques. What counts to our clients is the objective valuation that we provide, supported by facts and realistic market conditions. As a seller, what terms will you accept? Are you willing to remain with the business in a transition role for a period of time? What is that worth to you? We help you come to grips with this slippery subject through a series of steps designed to separate objective information from the subjective. Certainly there is value in subjectivity, but at the end of the day, a business's real worth is determined by what a qualified buyer, and a willing seller agree upon. Our objective approach helps reveal the true value of your business with empirical credibility.

Education

We believe that the best transactions involve buyers and sellers who have a firm understanding of their goals. Through the sharing of our expertise, we serve our clients by helping them identify their goals, then develop a strategy to achieve those goals. This comes through a give-and-take process of mutual education. We learn, and so does our client. We are experts at this process.
